Greetings Catholic Utah Community!  Please read the following carefully to find out what is happening in your Catholic Utah!

Events Planned by Catholic Utah

Join us for our first Family and Friends Holy Hour and Dinner on January 14th!  RSVP Needed!
Bring your kids, your spouse, yourself, and your friends and join us for an hour of prayer and a Taco Tuesday dinner!  Feel free to come for the whole hour or stop by at any time during the hour.  We will have Adoration from 5-6pm at St. Ambrose Church and will say a rosary together beginning at 5:30pm.  From 5-5:30, we will just have quiet prayer time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.  Coloring pages, books, and prayer journal pages will be available for children.  After we finish praying the rosary, we will head down to the Social Hall for a Taco Tuesday dinner (suggested donation of $5 per person/$20 per family).  To ensure we have enough food, please email CatholicUtah@gmail.com to RSVP.  We are excited to add this opportunity for our Catholic Utah community to gather for fellowship and prayer (and tacos!!) in between our speaking events. FAQ:  What is Adoration?

Start Reading!  Our next Catholic Utah Book Club meeting will be February 5th!
We are meeting to discuss The Lamb's Supper: The Mass as Heaven on Earth by Scott Hahn.  If you are interested in being included in our mailing list for the book club, email Gracie at GEpalomb@gmail.com.  Our book club meets 4 times per year.  Join us whenever it works for you--no commitment required.  Wouldn't it be a great New Year's resolution to read ONE book about your faith this year?  We'd love to see you there!

Save the Date!  Theology Uncorked on February 20th with Leticia Adams!
We will open registration next week and will send a separate email to announce when you can sign up!  Leticia Adams has an incredible story with her personal experiences of loss, suicide, and faith.  We look forward to welcoming her to Utah for our first Theology Uncorked event of 2020!

Save the Date!  April 24 Theology Uncorked and April 25 Theology for All with demonologist Adam Blai!
We are very excited to share the news that we have lined up a speaker named Adam Blai for the Spring!  Adam Blai is an advisor of religious demonology and exorcism for the diocese of Pittsburgh.  He trains priests in exorcism and is an auxiliary member of the International Association of Exorcists.  You do not want to miss this, so save the date and tell your friends!  On the evening of April 24, he will speak at Theology Uncorked for our mid-20's to mid-50's community and on April 25, we will host a Theology for All event that is OPEN TO ALL.

We need your help!  Please consider making a donation to Catholic Utah in 2020!
As we work ahead to plan several speakers at a time, it is critical that we receive financial support from you so we can pay to book their flights, secure venues, pay their deposits, etc.  Our ticket sales cover a portion of our expenses, but we rely on your donations so we can continue the work that we do to help educate and build community for Catholics in Utah.  Please consider donating to Catholic Utah during 2020!  We keep our overhead as low as possible and are working hard to serve you.  Thank you to those who have already donated.  We are a 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax-deductible.  Donations can be made at CatholicUtah.org/donate.  We are praying hard for your support and thank God for all of you!

Other Events We've Heard About

January 25th is the March for Life--begins at 1pm.
This is the largest pro-life event in the state of Utah. The 3/4-mile walk begins and ends at the State Capitol in Salt Lake City. The route is designed to accommodate walkers of various speeds and abilities, including young children, strollers and wheelchairs. It is brought to you by Pro-Life Utah to peacefully and powerfully bring awareness to the millions of lives that have been lost since the passage of Roe v. Wade. Before the march, there will be a short, motivational, and family-friendly program including a keynote speaker, information booths, Memory Walk, diaper drive, and t-shirts for sale.  For more information, visit https://march4lifeutah.org/.

St. Thomas More bus to the March for Life
St. Thomas More has organized transportation to take people downtown for the March for Life--families welcome.  The bus will arrive at St. Thomas More at 11am and depart for the March at 11:30.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch/snacks and rosary, if desired.  Spots are limited and must be reserved by January 13th.  If you are interested in reserving your spots on the bus, email MoreRespectForLife@stmutah.org.  The bus is free, but spots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis, so do not delay!

*New!*  St. Ambrose Parish will have Adoration every Tuesday 8am - 8pm beginning January 21st!
